It's funny in a way. My wife is always saying, "We remain alive as long as we are remembered." Did Zafon bug my house? Is this why we write? To remain alive after our pathetic bag of bones crumbles into dust? If you like magical realism, you'll love this novel. If you like mysteries, you'll like this novel. If you want a quick read, you won't finish it. I say 4.5 out of 5.
